Every month, MIPHA releases one prerecorded video about medical or public health related topic, usually requested by other members. There is one video a month.

August 2020

Do Not Resuscitate

In this meeting, we will be doing simple introduction activity and learning our first medical topic: DNR (Do-Not-Resuscitate). Participants will have the opportunity to debate about the question of morals and ethics. 8/23/20

Coronary Bypass Graft Surgery

On this meeting, we will be learning about the Coronary Bypass Grafting Surgery. Participants will be able to learn about one of the most important and common procedures done on the heart through the incident of Jonathan. 9/6/20

Physician-Assisted Suicide/ Death with Dignity Laws

On the third meeting, we will be discussing the issue of physician assisted suicide. We will discuss the Death with Dignity Laws and its ruling here in the United States. Members will be informed on national public health on physician assisted suicide. 10/18/20

November 2020

Shocks

On the fourth meeting, we will be learning about the types of shocks and the causes of it. Members of the club will be informed about one of the most common but lethal condition in the medical field. At the end of the lesson, we will take a "fun but informational" quiz. 11/14/20

December 2020

PPE Crisis

On the fifth meeting, we will be discussing the impacts of the corona virus, particularly in the hospitals. We will be looking the PPE Crisis and some hospital policies for dealing with the disease. 12/12/2020

Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy

On the sixth meeting, we will be talking about Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy (otherwise known as broken heart syndrome, stress cardiomyopathy, TCM, TTS, apical ballooning syndrome). 1/3/2021
